A bit disappointed; a bit regret choosing LBS, honestly

Program Full Time MBA

Class of 2016

Experience during the program

If you are not an European, neither have you got any connections to Europe, LBS is definitely not for you. The British are quite xenophobic in general, so as an Asian I never felt I belong to London. LBS has a strong reputation in London, but only in London, I’m afraid. So think carefully before committing to this choice. LBS is cheaper compared to other world Top 10 MBA programs, but as I said, if you don’t belong to Europe, it is still not worth it to study in London. If you want to use an MBA study as a way to immigrate, American schools are way better. I would have chosen an American school, if I knew upfront what l would encounter in those two years. FYI, every word above is sincere.

About job placement process

If you want to work in the EMEA area, LBS is perfect. Otherwise, please choose an American school.

Everything in your review is wrong except for the sentence regarding working in EMEA (although South America and Asia ought to be included here too). The data speaks for itself. https://www.london.edu/programmes/masters-courses/mba/class-profile https://www.london.edu/programmes/masters-courses/mba/career-impact

The rule of thumb is that the man/woman on the ground has the best perspective. Unless you are a current student, you should absorb every piece of information and appreciate an honest perspective.

I agree. The data suggests the review was not written by an LBS MBA student or alum.

This is quite a disturbing or perhaps overly sensitive comment. @BB can you in any way verify the reviewer?

This review was posted before we started requiring verification of the school's email address so I have looked up the user on linked in using their email and I can confirm that they indeed have attended LBS ans graduated in 2016 as suggested on their profile. https://gmatclub.com/forum/members/member-386351.html Further, per their LinkedIn profile with 300+ personal connections, this person found work outside of Europe, as indeed stated on the review. It leads to be believe it is an honest and a real review.

The review states "The British are quite xenophobic in general" - this is most definitely not true and exposes an underlying agenda . The rest of the review is similarly unfairly biased.

Diverse Student Body, Great Location

Class of 2014

The student body at LBS is one of the most diverse one, if not the only one. Classmates are generally with high caliber and down to earth. Such environment helps students build up a high degree of awareness to cultural difference. Academic resources have been great, with school investing a lot of resources hiring the best faculty from all around the world. Career service wise, I personally have received more than expected guidance and support along the way. The employers I wanted to work for all came to campus presentation. There are plenty of alumni working in those companies which is quite helpful during the recruiting process. Although I would suggest students wanting to work in London have a back up plan in place, since the UK gov't had taken measures to tighten the visa policy.

The career service team works really hard with students to help them achieve their career goals. Multiple sessions / workshops are regularly held for students to work on their CV, interview skills, etc. Almost every investment banks / consulting firms that has a MBA hiring program will come to school for the presentation, thanks to its location in London.

LBS helped me get my dream job!

Class of 2018

Many students need the MBA to get their dream job. LBS helped me get mine. By the help of the school and the career centre I managed to secure a summer internship at Amazon which led to a full time offer. Located in central London and close the largest companies, LBS offers great career opportunities. In terms of the program, the first year is very intense. However, given the three exist points that LBS offers, the second year is very flexible. Many students undertake a second internship, find a part time job, travel the world, or graduate early. That enables the student to shape their own path.

LBS is the Ultimate World MBA Experience

Class of 2019

London Business School has a great reputation for Finance, Consulting and Banking. Although this is still true, the Tech and Entrepreneurship communities are taking over LBS, which has given the school a fresh innovate atmosphere. A new LBS building called the Samy Ofer Center just opened this year and is already proving to be a valuable addition to the program. The more than 420 students that come through the doors are originally form over 130 countries, which provides the most diverse student body of any MBA program. I've been truly impressed with the amazing classmates I have this year, I've never been between such highly capable individuals that range from military, government, marketing, investment banking and entrepreneurs. Additionally, being in London is something that cannot be taken for granted, Brexit or not, this is the place you want to be! Recruiting is much better than I expected. The career services offer plenty of help and all the biggest companies from Tech, Banking, Consulting, Consumer and Luxury come to recruit from day one. If you like to travel this is also the MBA for you. Having been to dozens of countries and 3 continents in just first term is mind boggling. Also, to have people from all this corners of the world in your class, makes every trip a locally curated one, which is a perfect way to understand the world. Ultimately, if you don't want a cookie-cutter and be surrounded by the most amazing talent in the world, you need to apply to London Business School.

The program is extremely flexible, yo only have one term of core clases, and the other 5 you can choose the right path for you. You can also go on exchange with the best institutions in the world (8 out of the top 10 in USA) and even have two internships.

You won't have an issue getting a job. Not only do all the big companies recruit year-round, but also local businesses from all over the world come to LBS to find global talent. As an example, through the MBA office I applied to summer internships in companies located in Sweden, Japan, Argentina, Belgium, Singapore, Dubai and Johannesburg, to name a few.

Getting the most from a diverse student body

Class of 2017

The outstanding part of LBS was the quality and diversity of the student body. I met and benefited from peers from around the world, and will continue to take advantage of the worldwide network as I advance in my career. I went to LBS to change career paths and locations - I was able to do just that, moving from finance and into a tech role. Living in London was also an unparalleled experience - there was always something fun and exciting to do, and networking and recruiting was made easy by being in a global city. I would recommend LBS for anyone who is looking to get out of their comfort zone and who likes a challenge.

Exceeded my expectations

LBS has been such a wonderful experience this past couple of months - and I really think this program is underrated. Awesome student body The class is extremely diverse and I know after this I will have a close connection with someone from all major economic zones fo the world. Furthermore, most people being down to earth and eager to connect and help each other and we have a lot fun - balls, cultural days, weekly pub etc. Lastly, the school spends a lot of time working to help the study groups bond and work together. This has been a great learning exercise too. Fantastic career development and coaching opportunities There is not one day that goes by where there isn't some exciting talk on campus from established corporates, start-ups, business icons and even sports figures. There is plenty of opportunity to learn and build a network in whatever your area of focus is London location is a big advantage). I was also impressed by how much leadership/personal coaching have access to including a one-on-one session with an executive coach early on in the program. Pick your own adventure program The ability to tailor and design the experience you want is really a great advantage. Whether that is doing 2 internships, doing an exchange to an international Uni or travel the program gives you a chance to truly explore. An opportunity that is very in life. Such a great program, the school could do better to promote what it is offering because it's offering is far superior to some schools ranked above it.

A mix bag of professors especially in the core curriculum. However, as a theme though most seem to really care about the students and be passionate about teaching.

The school provides an easy structured process to intern/work at the typical post-MBA jobs (consulting, banking, Amazon etc.) They could do better with guiding students not interested in the typical paths. So far, however, a combination of the LBS brand, London location, Alumni network and campus events have provided me some access to alternative opportunities.

Best time of my life

Class of 2015

I moved from the US to do my BSchool in the UK, and nearly every other person asks me why I didn't go to one of the many fantastic schools in the states? I come from banking pre-MBA and despite what college applications ask you to say, I really wanted to figure out what I wanted to do. In the US, recruitment varies by school region, and even area of work varies by which office you end up in. The beauty of London is that it's all there... From ur banks, to retail, tech firms, startups, pharm, etc. It makes it so much easier to grab coffee chats with recruiters, alumni, and wider community looking for smart people. I am happy to say post MBA it worked doubt well for me as I got to complete two different internships (another big pro for LBS) and worked on little projects during my 2nd year to figure out what works best for me. On the flip side, this school is not for people who don't like meeting numerous people, and networking, etc. I had some friends who felt lost and overwhelmed by everything that was available to them. You are also competing with everyone else In Europe trying to get to London. In terms of getting into one of these schools, yes give either ur bets shot, do ur extra curricula, do well at work... But the actual selection process is a black box... You neve r know why you got into one school and not in the other..

The curriculum is OK.. I learn best from people, and there is a lot of working with your classmates.

All major companies recruit.. Visa policies are friendlier here than in the states... But they still exist... So world is ur oyster.. Unless you need a visa

Outstanding class

Not the most organised administration office, but the diversity and experience of the class more than makes up for it. My 425 classmates come from about 80 different countries. Great people, fantastic treks around the world (skiing in the French Alps, partying in Japan, safariing im South Africa, hot air ballooning in Myanmar, playing rugby at Duke to only name a few) and unbeatable drinking culture (free food and unlimited beer/wine/cider at Sundowners every Thursday night). In regards to career services and internship hunting, LBS is definitely strong in the consulting and finance fields, but could offer more support to non traditional MBA paths.

Collaborative environment, strong relationships

It is much more than I expected. All classmates are willing to help and it is easy to network and leverage your BS experience through your classmates and alumni either for academic and professional objectives. Career service is also very strong with a lot of optional activities to help you with all aspects of recruting, from choosing what you want to do to interviewing and negotiating offers. I just love my classmates and the whole academic environment/people. People is really the strongest asset in the school and BS for me is all about networking, so I chose the perfect school. I think the only aspects to improve are facilities because there is just not enough spaces for all school events and we frequently have to use nearby facilities, but the school is already making a new building expected to be ready in 2017. I also think the school should be aiming to be first in the world in the ranks, not first in Europe

More than a business school, the London Business School is a community with a focus on changing the world. At the London Business School, I found the most brilliant students of the world. If you are applying to the London Business School is important for you to focus on what you can bring to the school.

I am so grateful to the London business school. Before coming for my master I never lived by myself. The London business school provided so much support for accommodation, application and also provided a lot of support as many of us never had finance before. The class was top notch I learned so much from them

The university has the best careers team in the United kingdom target at international students. Most of my friends at the London school of economics or the HEC are struggling to secure a graduate job due to visa sponsor problems. While at the London Business School our applications are targeted at those that the university has partnerships and do fund visas. I advise all international students to apply for the London business school if you are interesting in a career in London.

Great experience moving from China to the United Kingdom. The London Business school is a very strong university. I have learned a lot of data analytics and finance. I am now applying for summer internships and have received great support so far. Looking forward for the start of the semester.

I was so happy when I was accepted at the London Business and every day has surprised me more. The Private equity club and impact consulting club has been an amazing experience. I developed a pro-bone consulting case for company expanding to Angola. Loved the experience felt like I learned a lot.

I attend the London Business School. I love the campus and always feel like there is something to do. Most of my time I spend between the lectures, clubs and applications. The university has one of the strongest networks in the world. This is so useful when applying for summer internships. There is no doubt that the London business school is the best university in Europe.

LBS is without doubt one of the best universities in the world if not the best. I was so happy when I was accepted at LBS and it surpassed all my expectations. I joined the Private Equity club in my first semester from there onwards I was inside the market. If you perform well in the club you will receive a summer internship offer that can be easily converted to a graduate offer. I intend to return to LBS as an MBA candidate in a few years.

The MFA cohorts always include students coming from broad horizons and is thus very diverse. LBS’s brilliant bet was to look for the best profiles worldwide which – in my opinion – I part of the reason why each of LBS’s programmes are as highly ranked as they are. Going to class is a pleasure, and so are the projects. Finally, thanks to the marvelous career center securing your dream job has never been easier.

Who actually are you? Are you legitimate?

Please can you answer some questions. 1. Why on Companies House does LSBR only have one employee registered? And why does the company have a balance sheet which is negligible? 2. Why on LinkedIn does it only have 5 employees listed, and why are 4 of these not full time and not based in the UK, let alone London. 3. What is the specific accrediting university that you are attached to? Are they based in the UK? 4. Is Roger Smith who replies to these comments actually real? Who is the "Dean". Do private training organisations have Deans? I don't think so. I suggest that you reply on behalf of the Dean to make you look like a proper University which you are not. 5. Looking at the name and location of most people leaving feedback, they are foreign nationals, not in the UK. Are you selling most of your courses to people not familiar with the UK education system? 6. Why is there no information on your website as to who you are, your provenance, or who the individuals are behind this organisation? 6. I could go on with many more questions but these will do for the time being. I look forward to your response Roger. Regards Miles

I got the records thoroughly checked and I can confirm that you are not even our learner, you never enrolled with us, nor left any admission inquiry, leave aside you not getting any support response. It seems that you are confusing our school with some other institution. I would suggest you please check your records again and remove this mischievous and scandalous comment about our school. Either you are confusing our school with some other institute or you are working in cohort with some competing institution who is held bent on leaving unsubstantiated, malicious, uncalled for comments to malign our reputation. I would request you to please remove this comment immediately failing which we would be taking up legal action against you to protect our reputation and integrity for which you would be solely responsible for costs and other remedies. Thank you, Roger Smith, On behalf of the Dean London School of Business and Research, UK https://www.LSBR.UK

Best service so far

Best service so far. Tracy and Karen were very helpful and walked me through the process. Never agitated or showed any sign of frustration from my trillion questions asked. Looking forward to getting something better at the end of this journey.

They are scammers...

They are scammers.... they sent an email and WhatsApp saying that if I recommended students they were going to give to me £100 per Leach Level 5 diploma and £300 per each extended diploma. After recommending 2 students and after they have finished paying, they hang up the phone when I call and they do not give me the money they promised.

AVOID! LMS is shocking, poor grammar and spelling in papers provided, no clear direction on how to progress and the content is just a bunch of links to YouTube and OTHER PEOPLES CONTENT. They also won’t refund you once you log in, so stay away. OFQAL have been informed

Dear Nicholas Bursey, Thank you for your email and it is really sad to hear that you wish to withdraw. You enrolled with us in the "3rd Week of June, 2022" which is about 5 months ago and have been studying the course since then. The cooling off period is 14 days from your date of enrolment which expired on the 5th July, 2022. Is there anything that I can do for you to reconsider your decision? There are following options that you may consider: - Perhaps if you want an extension of your course duration, the same can be considered. - If you wish to have a one-to-one session with a Professor, the same can also be organised for you to clarify doubts that you might have. - If you wish to have an extension of your Assignments submission date, we can consider that as well. Once you have accessed the LMS system, the license is deemed to have been consumed. As I see from the logs that you have downloaded the entire Library, Study Material, study links, accessed Videos & presentations, Assignment Brief documents etc. Since the LMS contains all the study materials which are downloadable cancelling the course at this stage is not possible. It is apt, that since 5 months have elapsed in your course duration, you may submit your assignments and finish off your course and get qualified asap. As a goodwill gesture, I have requested the academic team to increase your course duration by another 2 months to facilitate assignments submission by you. I can also see from the logs that the academic department had shared with you Webinar Invites and I am sure you had attended and participated in few of them. Let me know if you wish to consider an extension of your assignments submission dates or if you wish to switch to a different course. I'll do the needful. Needless to say that we do not want to loose you as our esteemed learner and would go an extra mile to assist you in every possible way. Thanks and regards, Maggi Estel Senior Admissions Coordinator London School of Business and Research, UK LSBR.UK

Perfect in every way!!

Perfect in every way!! Completed my Level 8 Diploma with the school. The resources provided are quite helpful given the subjects at the doctorate level are tough. The markers are quick in providing feedback - and I just received my official certificate and transcripts from them (awarded by Qualifi). Highly recommend this institute!

I enrolled for a course yesterday

I enrolled for a course yesterday. Upon gaining access to the course I discovered there is no actual lesson content just links to various books or links to other internet sites to click on, some of which you cannot even click on. I chatted with the online help which was no help at all so I requested a refund immediately and have not heard back. Having done many online courses this was by far the worst. Very disappointed and hoping I am not on for a fight for my Monday back!

Hello Candice, I will surely look into your grievance and will try to address it asap. However as I see you requested to withdraw within few hours of your purchasing the course. "Your account was still under setup and your classes were scheduled to commence from the 15th of June. It seems you took the decision in bit of a haste." Nevertheless thank you once again for considering London School of Business and Research (LSBR) for your studies. 👍 If you would like to reconsider your decision to quit and would like to rejoin, do let us know and we would be more than happy to welcome you as our esteemed learner. Please take care and stay safe. With warm personal regards, Roger Smith, On behalf of the Dean LSBR, London www.lsbr.uk

SMOOTH ENROLLMENT/ REGISTRATION PROCESS

The team was very helpful, especially Arun and Maggi. Arun in particular explained most of the thorny issues and answered all the questions I asked. Arun helped me in taking certain decisions concerning the programme. The enrollment/ registration process was smooth. So far so good. The only issue I had with LSBR is the delayed acknowledgment of receipt of fees. This created some apprehension. If the process continues smoothly as it began, then I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend LSBR to a colleague or anybody who desires to obtain higher education in the UK. Thank you and keep it up.

A very smooth and seamless registration and payment process. My questions were promptly answered and I have two contacts who I can directly ask for assistance from at any time. I would recommend that the "Registration" button on the main webpage be checked as both a colleague and I found that it didn't work properly on a couple of occasions.

La Novena, a Salisbury Mexican restaurant, hosted a fundraiser event for White Wednesday night. They provided seven specials, including White's unique, a plate of rice, shrimp, and fries.

All sales were donated to the White family. The owner of La Novena, Adrien Cervantes, posted the memorial event on Facebook Monday. Many people responded, which was out of his expectation.

Columbia Citizens Police Review Board still without a leader

The board was supposed to elect the Officer Chair and Vice Chair positions, however, neither election took place.

Multiple members of the community came to the meeting Wednesday to voice their opinions on the state of the board, including former board member and U.S. Senate hopeful December Harmon.

Harmon, along with other members of the community, all stated that the board needs a model change. Harmon said without a model change, the board will always have nothing to do.
