At our benches, you’ll build skills and confidence and build the kind of working relationships that will serve you along the way. We take an asset based approach to learning; seeking to reconnect people with the best in themselves and their community as the most effective means of achieving self-reliance and a better quality of life.

Fun Craft classes / courses in Glasgow
Fun things to do in glasgow this weekend.
Not the crafty type? Not to worry. If you don’t know your pliers from your pinking shears, and you’ve never worked with wax before, don’t panic – all of our Glasgow craft classes are designed for a range of interests, abilities and experience levels, so everyone can join in with the crafty fun. Our expert teachers will be on hand throughout the class to guide you through the process and answer any questions that crop up along the way – whether it's how to make scented candles or the best ways to write in calligraphy with style, they’ll make sure everyone is getting it right. With an emphasis on laid back creativity, this is a great way to switch off, relax and really make the most of your Saturday afternoon!
Rejuvenating craft workshops and local experiences
If you fancy heading off on your creative journey solo, we have plenty of public classes that will connect you with other like minded crafters – so you’ll be able to learn some fresh skills and make new friends at the same time. Got a birthday party to plan, a hen do to organise or a team building day to arrange? Give your crew a celebration with a difference and opt for one of our fun craft classes to make it a day they’ll remember for all the right reasons – not a trust fall, tacky tiara or birthday banner in sight!
Fun indoor activities
Stuck for rainy half term ideas? If you’re at home with little ones, tempt them away from Minecraft and let them get their hands dirty with one of our specially designed online classes for kids. From gooey soap making and simple woodworking projects to beginners origami and decorative decoupage, we’ve got plenty of options that will spark their imagination, develop their creativity and help them create something wonderful.
If you’re sick of screens and don’t fancy getting involved in a virtual class, we’ve got plenty of craft kits and DIY boxes that will deliver the brilliant studio experience directly to your door. Packed by our wonderfully talented teachers, our DIY kits are filled with all the tools and materials you’ll need to complete your project – whether you’ve chosen to make a super simple origami flower or a more complicated wooden sculpture! You’ll be able to switch off, stay cosy and craft your way to success at your own pace.

I turn 30 soon and I've given myself a list of things of things to do before the end of the year.
One of them is to make something with my hands. Trouble is I have no experience in doing so. Anyone know of anywhere that does basic woodworking lessons, or a workshop space to rent?
Strathclyde Uni's Centre for Lifelong Learning has an excellent set of workshops with nearly spanking-new equipment, and Graham Murdoch (a master furniture maker) runs daytime and evening classes for beginners
You're too late for the current classes, but I think the next lot start in April, and then there's summer ones too
Perfect! Had a look at college classes before but all were Jan or August start. Emailed Strathclyde and enrolling for April. Thank you!
Place in Anderson does Ukulele building classes. I have always fancied them myself, not sure what I would do with the Ukulele though.
Does anyone know of wood working facilities in Glasgow? The sort I can pay to use.
The Strathclyde uni workshop which hosts the classes I mentioned above can be used by experienced woodworkers by paying a membership fee, not sure what hours it's available and the websites a bit crap though
Based in Fairley st, in the south side. Free to come along to on a thursday night and really friendly group. Turn up anytime after 3 and just introduce yourself and people will help you out.
Looks like an amazing project, can anyone just turn up and join in?
I'm really interested in this too. What happens on Thursdays? Is it a workshop that you can use and get involved with?

Bespoke Woodworking Courses & Masterclasses
Choose what you want to learn on one of my bespoke woodworking courses and I'll do my very best to achieve that for you. All my one-on-one courses are held at my workshop in Scotland.
Bespoke woodworking courses, costing just £200 per day, generally take place on 3 successive days over the summer months and they can be as flexible as you, the participant, need them to be. Accommodation is available in or around Langholm for those travelling from a distance - details available on request. Anywhere within Langholm is only a few minutes walk from the workshop, including food outlets for your packed lunch.
Because my courses are one-on-one, my availability can fill up quickly. 2023 is already looking pretty busy*, so please contact me using the form below, and we can either try and set up a mutually convenient date, or add you to my waiting list.
* There is only me - whether that be to design/create or teach - so I can only take a few courses in a year. There just aren't enough hours in the day!
It's a shame I'm not local as I would be banging on your door to ask to learn from you.
I really enjoyed the day it was great. Daniel is a laid back but really good teacher and I learned loads. It was just what I needed starting out in woodworking.
Daniel’s courses are extremely informative and I have gained lots of knowledge and experience about tools: how to properly look after them, different tools that I hadn’t heard of, and some things I would need to purchase in order to keep my tools in a good condition. The final bespoke course was definitely my favourite when I got to make something I wanted.
I would recommend these courses to anyone who has an interest in woodwork. Daniel was able to spend time with me and no question is a silly one. He is very helpful and encouraging throughout all the courses.
